Research Paper Information 2008 - Twelve Academic English

 

Choose a twentieth, twenty-first century hero and prove why this person can be considered one who is worthy of admiration.

 

This paper must be three to five pages in length.  The paper must also have a works cited page.  You must follow MLA format when writing this paper.  You will complete research in the library four days during the week of February 11, 2008.

 

Deadlines:

 

1.      Week of Feb. 4 outline/ essay on famous person will be written during class time

 

2.      Minimum of 3 empty 3x5 index cards and 5 empty 5x8 index cards  due by Monday, Feb. 11

 

3.      Minimum of 3 completed source cards (using at least one print and one non-print source) due by Wednesday, Feb. 13

 

4.      Minimum equivalent of 5 completed (full) note cards due by Tuesday, Feb. 19

 

5.      Rough draft with parenthetical documentation due by Monday, Feb. 25

 

6.      Final paper (with source cards, note cards, rough draft and copies of all sources used) due by Wednesday, March 5

 

 

 

Ten extra points will be given to each item submitted at least one full day before the appropriate deadline.

 

Papers submitted one day late (March 6) will receive a starting grade of 75; papers received two days late (March 7) will receive a starting grade of  50.  No other papers will be accepted.
