What is JerseyCat?

JerseyCat is short for New Jersey Catalog, a place where you can request books and other materials from participating libraries all over New Jersey. Once your requested materials arrive, we'll contact you during homeroom. This service is available to students and staff.

Do I need a password?

Yes, you need a password.  Please see the library staff or email Mrs. Wellborn for the password.

How do I make a request?

1) Click on JerseyCat screen, then click Begin.

2) Enter a title, author, subject of keywords in the Search For box.

3) Find the box that says South and click it. By checking this box, you're telling JerseyCat to search the libraries closest to our high school, and that means your requests will get here faster!

4) Click Search.

5) You should get a list of all the libraries you just searched, and how many items they have that match what you searched for. Click on one. Hint: The closer the library is to our high school the faster it will get here.

6) Find the item you're looking for in the list, making sure you select the right format (book, audiotape, etc.) and click it.

7) Look for the gray Request This Item box and click it.

8) Enter the fields in red -- your full name, a password (any 4 digit number) and either your phone number or email address. It is not necessary to enter a fax number.

9) Find the gray box that says Submit and click it.

How long will it take for my requests to arrive?

Generally 1-2 weeks. Our library only receives JerseyCat deliveries on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but you are welcome to come to the library and check on the status.
